Poker is a very popular game played throughout the world in the casinos. With the recent launch of video poker and movies being based on it this game has really had its popularity going up by leaps and bounds. While poker is quite an easy game and all you need to learn are the rules and regulations, yet many players go wrong on a very basic point. That point is the point of courtesy and the way to treat other players and behave when you are sitting at a poker table. Following are some basic poker etiquettes that you must not forget even if you are a novice and are basically looking to win some quick money.

• You should never ask a player on the losing side to reveal his hand to you. Although you have full right to ask to see his hand, this process has only been kept so that there can be no chances of any collaboration within the players. Moreover although seeing a hand can technically give you a lot of advantage as to guess what card the others in the game are holding yet from a courteous point of view this is never correct because by asking to see someone’s hand you are indirectly accusing him of cheating. Moreover you should be looking to spare him the embarrassment of having to show his losing hand in front of the whole table.

• When you defeat someone you should not be overexcited or too eager and go and shake his hand. You must remember that the person has lost and will be in no mood to offer his hand to you.

• When you win a round and with it other people’s money you should not at any cost apologize to the other players. There are two reasons for this- first of all, you have gone there to win money and apologizing would mean you are just sympathizing with them which they will definitely not want. The best way is to just compliment the ousted player on the hand that he played and leave him be.
